Public training courses
If you have less than 4 delegates to train, training in-house becomes non-efficient. CMP’s public courses offer an excellent alternative for those who want to train as mediators and investigators. Endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) our programmes are interactive, strong on practical exercises and focused feedback and run by specialists with many years of experience under their belts.
CMP developed a serious incident investigation programme that was just right for the needs of the group. We would recommend CMP to any organisation wanting to develop the skills and professionalism of their investigators. Our training was been a very positive experience, and we are confident it has helped us to speed up and professionalise our approach to investigating serious incidents. Not only have our investigators gained in confidence and skills, but our investigations are already moving more quickly and our processes have been streamlined following input from the trainers.
The investigation training was informative and interactive, with excellent course material. I particularly liked the energy and expertise of the trainer who shared his experiences.
Clear, relevant, mixture of activity types – the trainer created a safe place to learn.
We used CMP to train Specialist Investigators to work on cases of bullying and harassment that had reached a formal stage; and to train workplace facilitators/mediators to help individuals discuss and potentially resolve their differences. The trainers from CMP were highly professional and knowledegable. The participants felt that the respective courses were hard work but enjoyable. As an organisation we feel that their skills and knowledge has given us a bank of people who are skilled and very able to help the Trust in maintaining a work environment free of unwelcome behaviour.
I like the respectful way the training was undertaken, listened etc. The trainer made it interesting, whilst being well-considered and thoughtful.
A collaborative environment, lots of ideas for the right language to use and situations that might crop up. Real-life focus!! Thank you for a very useful day!!
Feedback from attendees has been excellent. Well done CMP for providing excellent training, we will use CMP again. The Workplace Investigator training was a robust and in-depth training event, tailored very well to the unique policy application of the Scottish Government. Delivered by a very knowledgeable trainer who was able to able to assess the needs of the group and who was confident and flexible enough to be able to concentrate on specific areas when required, whilst still maintaining deadlines etc.
The project has gone very well; it has been organisationally excellent. The quality of the training is good and the content of the training is extremely relevant. Working with CMP Resolutions in the short term has helped us to establish a pool of qualified investigators who we are assured is competent to undertake investigations.
It was great to have such an experienced investigaton skills trainer, with deeper insight into people’s motivations and responses, and how to skilfully navigate these in order to elicit the information necessary to come to a reasoned judgment. We picked up lots of great tips about how to ensure an investigation’s terms of reference are really clear, and how to stay on track and not become diverted by other agendas.
Vanessa Clothier, Business Conduct Development Manager, BAE Systems talks about partnering with CMP to develop an investigations skills course to train their Ethics officers.
