John founded the company in 1989 and was responsible for the emergence of workplace mediation as a discipline within the UK. He is one of the UK’s most well-respected workplace mediation experts and is invited to write and speak on the subject around the world. He is passionate about the role mediation has to play in today's workplace, and works as a consultant to several of our key clients, including the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) who selected CMP as their training provider for their own mediation service. As our Chair, John continues to develop the uptake of mediation throughout the UK and Europe’s workforces, and is involved with the work of the Civil Mediation Council's Workplace Mediation Committee.
Katherine Graham Managing Director![]()

Katherine joined CMP in 1993. Before becoming Managing Director in 2009 she was responsible for the management and development of the company’s dispute resolution portfolio, including mediation, investigation, and neutral assessment, developing new models of mediation and establishing investigation best practice standards. Together with John, Katherine articulated and developed the model of Interactive Mediation which is now the most used mediation approach in Britain’s workplaces. Katherine is one of the UK’s most experienced workplace mediators. Prior to working with CMP, she spent ten years as an editor.
Pat Woodfield Non Executive Director
Pat joined our Board of Directors in 2009. She is Group Director of HR for Bidwells, and is a Board member of Nottinghamshire Learning & Skills Council and YMCA Nottingham. Pat is a highly experienced HR professional and has written and developed training programmes as well as undertaking mediation and investigation work at the highest levels.
Glenn Grant Non Executive Director
Glenn joined CMP as a Non Executive Director in 2009. He runs his own company and has worked successfully at a senior level in both small businesses and large corporates. Glenn is a very experienced commercial business manager and has previously worked with CMP as a Consultant.
Deborah Casey Business Development Manager
Deborah joined CMP in 2004 and was initially responsible for the delivery of the company’s dispute resolution services. Promoted to Business Development Manager in 2009, Deborah is now responsible for the company’s sales and marketing activities. As a fully qualified and practising mediator Deborah has a significant insight into the benefits and challenges of workplace mediation. She also has an excellent understanding and practical experience of the effective use of investigation services.
Rebecca Foreman Operations Manager
Rebecca joined CMP in 2008 as our Training and Consultancy Manager and was appointed to the role of Operations Manager in 2009. She is responsible for the smooth and efficient delivery of all our products and services and heads up our team of project coordinators. She has a background in organisational consultancy and is also a trained workplace mediator.
Richard Roberts Finance Manager
Richard joined CMP in 2004 and has transformed our financial operations in that time. He is responsible for all aspects of our financial management systems and ensures our invoicing and payments take place efficiently and accurately.
