CMP Resolutions was founded as Conflict Management Plus Ltd by John Crawley in 1989. and was the first dispute resolution company specialising in workplace mediation in the UK. Since then we have gone on to become the UK’s most successful conflict management company focussing on workplace disputes, and have achieved this market lead by continuously innovating, ensuring we delivery quality, and providing excellent value for money. In 2009, CMP was rebranded as CMP Resolutions and underwent a restructure which in early 2012 saw John Crawley stand down from CMP to pursue other interests.

    Katherine Graham, Managing Director

Katherine has 22 years’ experience in the field of workplace dispute resolution. She was made Managing Director of CMP Resolutions in 2009; prior to this she was CMP’s Director of Dispute Resolution. Katherine wrote the UK’s only Best Practice Standards for Investigating Disciplinary and Grievances, endorsed by Dr Helge Hoel from the Manchester Business School and is passionate about the need to professionalise this aspect of workplace conflict management. Together with John Crawley she introduced the idea of the role that managers have in leading mediation at work, through their groundbreaking book Mediation for Managers (NB Books).

She has delivered more then 200 mediations, often working at the most senior level mediating complex disputes between directors, partners, and CEOs. She has developed new and innovative ways of bringing the benefits of dispute resolution to the workplace. In conjunction with John Crawley, she developed the Interactive Mediation model used by over 4000 of the UK’s mediators; our Diploma in Mediation Skills and Practice; and our advanced practice training for mediators. She developed the Conflict Profile™ which enables employers to quantify their organisation’s cost of conflict and benchmark their capabilities; and CMP’s mission to Close, Manage and Prevent workplace conflict – the SMART-Employee Relations model.

Katherine regularly posts thought provoking blogs which challenge readers to think differently about dispute resolution at work.
