How to get the most from your internal mediation service

CMP Resolutions, established in 1989, was the first organisation to campaign for and promote the benefits of mediation in the workplace, and we helped to set up the first in-house workplace mediation service in the UK – for Birmingham City Council.

Since then, we have trained over 5000 workplace mediators, conducted more than 1000 mediations ourselves, and helped 200 organisations to introduce and support an internal mediation service, many of which have been operating for more than a decade.

There is only anecdotal evidence of the factors most likely to contribute to a successful and long-lasting in-house mediation services, and this paper draws on research we carried out across the UK to find out what it really is that makes a successful in house mediation service.

This paper shares data and best practice ideas to use when considering how best to access mediation for your business, and will provide a springboard for those considering taking the plunge and introducing mediation to their organisations, as well as those which have an internal mediation service which they would like to see achieve better results.
