Investigation training improves performance and reduces costs
The IPCC worked with CMP Resolutions to train eight of our HR staff in Qualified Workplace Investigator training. These staff have since used their skills and learning from the course both in the delivery of internal investigations and in their day-to-day work.
In particular the training has helped to improve the way in which Terms of Reference are set, ensuring that investigations are tightly described and therefore less likely to go off track, ultimately saving in both time and money. Also a key element of the course was the skills practice on building rapport under pressure which has benefited in interviews and working with parties.
The investigators continue to work closely together and have used their knowledge and skills to support others involved in the investigation process, for example managers, decision makers etc. This has an knock on effect of improving performance throughout the investigation process.
