Equality and Diversity Training

Our Equality and Diversity training will build your employees’ skills to manage difference and understand the impact of their behaviour on others. When people feel bullied or harassed it is essential that they don’t avoid the situation in the hope it goes away.  Perhaps humour slides into banter- and leads to complaints of discrimination. Or cultural differences are misinterpreted and people feel victimised or excluded. These are issues that can lead to serious allegations, high-profile and expensive claims, and badly damaged employees.

These skills form part of our ‘Prevent’ layer of ‘CMP’ (Close, Manage, Prevent workplace conflict) and by building these capabilities you will reduce the number of complaints escalating to mediation and beyond.

Many organisations have set up their own Harassment Advisor service or outsourced this role to CMP. Others have trained employees to strengthen weak or vulnerable skill-sets, and invested in building the self-awareness and emotional intelligence which enables people to avoid inadvertently adopting bullying or harassing behaviours.

You can build your employees’ understanding of the Equalities Act 2010 with short skills workshops so that they are clear what their rights and responsibilities are. If you equip your employees to manage these situation with interpersonal skills training, you will prevent conflict from escalating into complaints.

If you skill your managers to step in confidently and assertively when inappropriate behaviours are demonstrated, you will be able to prevent conflict from escalating. .
