Mediation Training
We provide accredited mediation training to all levels. The majority of workplace mediators are not legally trained, or ACAS trained – they are CMP trained. We lead the field, we don’t follow it. We were the first workplace mediation specialists in the UK when John Crawley established us as Conflict Management Plus in 1989: we know workplace mediation, and we continually evolve and develop our thinking. Our mediation training now extends to homelessness mediation, SEN mediation, health mediation, and community mediation.

Mediation works. It restablishes effective relationships and clients who have invested in our medation training and support see an average 85% success rate.
Our training is tough but rewarding, and leads to the UK’s benchmark qualifications: the OCR Certificate In Mediation and the Qualified Workplace Mediator certificate.
We run courses for up to 9 per trainer for clients at their own premises; and fewer numbers can be trained on our public courses which run throughout the year.
Mediation works in the workplace
If your organisation has more than 1000 staff, statistics suggest you already have 10 situations that could benefit from mediation. Mediation can prevent those low-level grumbles from escalating. It can get people back from stress absence and manage their conflicts constructively and to a conclusion. And it can be used to rebuild workplace relationships after people have been exposed to a grievance or disciplinary procedure. BIS estimates the their mediation service saves £20,000 per grievance.
Employers with more than 1000 staff chose to set up their own internal mediation service, and more than 100 organisations partner with CMP to provide their mediation training and service development. Private sector clients like British Airways: Public sector clients such as the Department for Business Innovation and Skills itself. Charities such as Barnados. Whatever the sector, our client satisfaction rate is testimony to our expertise.
If you have an existing mediator team then you will be looking to advance their skills in short CPD training programmes and advanced mediation training for mediating group disputes; becoming a mediation supervisor; or becoming a mediation service manager.
Or you can train your employees and managers using short mediation training programmes to build the capacity to prevent conflict from escalating.
