The Essential Mediator

If you don’t need the full certificate level training, but want to ensure you’re investing in training which meets the minimum national standards, this intensive four-day foundation course will enable you to mediate in your own organisation or as an independent mediator.

The course exceeds the national minimum standards to become a workplace mediator – set at 24 hours by the Civil Mediation Council – and gives you enough skills and practice to mediate most situations competently and confidently. The Essential Mediator covers Core Workplace Mediation Skills; and Conflict Management and Facilitation Skills for Workplace Mediators. You will be able to work to an accredited standard as an in-house or external workplace mediator and help resolve disputes early, prevent escalation and restore working relationships, with the ILM certificate behind you.
