Building mediation awareness and basic mediation skills
Many people need to understand the benefits of using mediation, and learn some key mediation skills, but don’t need to take on the full mediator role.

Mediation for Managers, ILM endorsed training
Managers spend about 30% of their time managing conflict, and most do it without any training at all. The CIPD makes it clear that managers are key to workplace dispute resolution, and ought to be trained in mediation (download your copy of the CIPD Conflict Management Survey Report, 2011).
This 3-day ILM endorsed programme takes your managers through the role of the mediating manager and teaches them to mediate disputes in their own team confidently and skilfully.
Your managers will learn to:
- use mediation skills such as active listening, impartiality, conflict facilitation and win/win problem solving
- manage difficult behaviour assertively, and defuse aggressive behaviour
- reduce the negative aspects of conflict – the stress, demotivation and divided teams

CPD training programmes for existing mediators
